Crash

A two-vehicle accident involving drivers of motorcycle and a minivan with Montana license plates slow down traffic at the 500 block of South Seventh Street in the late afternoon on Friday.

The driver and passenger of a motorcycle remain hospitalized following a Friday afternoon crash.

Joel Kraft, 52, and Lydia Arroyo, 51, both of Bismarck, were transported to local hospitals on Friday. Bismarck police Lt. Jeff Solemsaas said their injuries are not life-threatening.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the motorcycle and minivan crash, which took place at about 4:20 p.m. on South Seventh Street near Kirkwood Mall. The driver of the minivan involved in the crash is Larry Perkins, 76, of Glendive, Mont.

A GoFundMe page for Kraft and Arroyo said the couple sustained head injuries and fractured and shattered femurs to their right legs. Multiple surgeries will be needed to repair their legs, according to the page.

Solemsaas said officers are looking for surveillance video of the crash from area businesses, as well as re-interviewing several witnesses who were at the scene. A final report will be sent to the Burleigh County State's Attorney's office to determine whether any charges should be filed.
