A Mandan man who is a registered sex offender is accused of providing alcohol to a 13-year-old girl and having sex with her.
Cyrus Cuba, 29, has been charged with one felony count of gross sexual imposition and one misdemeanor count of unlawful delivery to certain persons, or giving alcohol to an underage girl.
On Feb. 20, the Mandan Police Department received a report from a 38-year-old woman who said her 13-year-old daughter told her that Cuba sexually assaulted her on Feb. 16, according to a police affidavit.
The girl told police Cuba picked her up from her residence the day prior. She and her friend had stayed at Cuba's Mandan residence that night, where she said he had sex with her. The girl and her friend told police they drank a "raspberry" alcoholic beverage, which Cuba provided to them.
Cuba reportedly admitted to police that he had sex with the girl.
Cuba was convicted of one count of GSI in Mercer County in 2014 and received a five-year sentence, three years of supervised probation and had to register as a sex offender, according to the state sex offender registry.
At Cuba's initial appearance on Thursday, South Central District Judge James Hill set Cuba's bond at $50,000.
