A man injured in a shooting while hunting Saturday near Bismarck remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Burleigh County Sgt. Aaron Silbernagel said the 66-year-old man is stable after sustaining injuries to his head, neck and eye area from a pellet spray. The injured man's name has not yet been released.

Silbernagel said the shooting took place during a pheasant hunt. The incident will be reviewed for possible charges, he said.

The sheriff's office previously said the shooting occurred Saturday afternoon southeast of Bismarck. The man was reportedly shot at close range when a firearm unexpectedly discharged while hunting with his grandson.
