A Bismarck man is accused of embezzling more than $23,000 from his now former employer over a multiyear span.

Justin Weiss ordered parts on the account of Vallely Sport and Marine, according to a police affidavit. He would then cancel the order and direct the credit to his debit card, police say. Store management notified police when inventory discrepancies were discovered. The store’s records indicate Weiss’ PIN or signature was used on the transactions, police say.

Court records show Weiss has been ordered to make a court appearance at a later date. Defense attorney Justin Vinje said Weiss has taken responsibility for his actions and is trying to make amends.
