The incident occurred Sept. 28 during a Dakota Territory Gun Collectors Association show at the event center. Bismarck police said the revolver fired while Serumgard, a vendor at the show, was demonstrating its features. The gun sent a round of birdshot -- multiple small pellets -- toward the ceiling of the building. There was no damage and nobody was injured. Event organizers asked Serumgard to leave the show.
The charge was filed Friday in Bismarck Municipal Court. Serumgard did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and no attorney was listed for him in court documents. His arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 28.
