Authorities are weighing potential charges after a 22-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the foot in a Bismarck apartment building.
The incident happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the building at 2200 Koch Drive when the man was "messing around" with the gun and it went off, police said. Authorities did not specify what type of gun it was.

Other people were inside the apartment but not in the same room when the gun fired.
The man was not arrested, but the case has been sent to city and county prosecutors for a decision on possible charges including discharge of a firearm within city limits and reckless endangerment.
