After deliberating for nearly eight hours on Thursday, a jury found a Mandan Lyft driver guilty of sexually assaulting a rider.

During the two-day trial, jurors heard testimony from the woman who said she was sexually assaulted by Corey Wickham, 39, who picked her up from a bar in Mandan on Aug. 25.

The woman told Bismarck police that, when Wickham dropped her off at her residence, she tried to open the vehicle door but Wickham grabbed her right arm to stop her, according to court documents. He then began to kiss her on her mouth and sexually assaulted her.

During Wickham's testimony, he conceded the woman was intoxicated, but said she consented to sex.

The jury found Wickham guilty of two felony counts of gross sexual imposition. He will be sentenced after a pre-sentence investigation is complete.

Burleigh County Assistant State's Attorney Marina Spahr prosecuted the trial. Wickham was represented by James Loraas. South Central Judge Gail Hagerty presided over the trial.
