A Garrison man accused of having sex with a drunk teenager in a convenience store parking lot was charged Thursday with felony gross sexual imposition.
Bryton Schenfisch, 20, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the July 3 incident, according to police documents. He allegedly left a party with a 17-year-old girl, who told police she consumed alcohol at the party and was intoxicated. The girl told police she had difficulty remembering all the events of the night but that Schenfisch told her the next day through Snapchat messages that they had sex.
Two witnesses told police the girl was drunk at the party, the affidavit said. Schenfisch at first denied having sex with the girl, but later allegedly admitted lying about it because of her age. He told police he knew the girl had been drinking but denied she was overly intoxicated.
Schenfisch on Thursday made his initial appearance in South Central District Court. He is being held in the Burleigh Morton Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bail. No attorney was listed for Schenfisch in court documents.
