The Ramada Inn in Bismarck was evacuated Friday due to a fire on the outside of the building, according to a news release from Bismarck city officials.
The Bismarck Fire Department responded to a report of smoke on the first floor of the hotel, 1400 E. Interchange Ave, at 9:19 p.m. When fire personnel arrived, they evacuated everyone from the building.
There was light smoke on the first floor and heavy smoke on the second floor of the east wing, according to the release. A fire was found on an outside wall of the building, near a ventilation unit.
It took more than four hours to ventilate the building, and a preliminary fire loss estimate is $100,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
