An Elgin man is in custody on child sex crime charges for alleged incidents this summer and several years ago.
Samuel Schily, 43, is charged with two felonies in Grant County and one felony in Burleigh County, court documents show. The most serious charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.
He is accused in a Grant County sheriff’s affidavit of improperly touching a girl in May and June. A Burleigh County affidavit alleges that sometime in 2011 or 2012 he forced a girl to improperly touch him.

Schily is being held in the Burleigh Morton Detention Center in lieu of $250,000 bail. Defense attorney Todd Ewell declined comment.
Schily's preliminary hearing in Grant County is Sept. 16. No court appearances were immediately scheduled in Burleigh County.
