Burleigh County on Monday was removing self-fill sandbag sites set up last week in the midst of ice jam flooding on the Missouri River, while Morton County opted to leave its site open.
Flooding north of the Grant Marsh bridge last week affected some homes on both sides of the river but was not widespread. The high water receded over the weekend, and the National Weather Service on Sunday canceled a flood advisory for western Burleigh County and northeastern Morton County.

Forecasters cautioned that a second round of flooding is possible, however, with another cycle of ice-up expected with colder weather later this week.
