A 25-year-old Bismarck woman faces numerous charges after entering a home and attempting to choke its resident, and for assaulting a peace officer during her arrest.
Paige Koppinger’s string of alleged crimes took place around 2 p.m. Tuesday on the 900 and 1000 blocks of North 15th Street, according to Bismarck Police Sgt. Tim Sass.
On the 1000 block, the suspect is accused of throwing a large rock against a pickup several times, causing an estimated $5,000 worth of damage. She then allegedly entered a home without permission and woke up a sleeping female resident by attempting to choke her, according to Sass.
After being kicked out of the residence, Koppinger was reported to have walked to the 900 block of North 15th Street, where she was met by officers, who attempted to detain her.
During the arrest, according to Sass, the suspect pulled away and began scratching at an officer’s face, “causing him pain.” She allegedly continued resisting by pulling her arms and body away.
Sass said no injuries required hospital treatments.
Koppinger is being charged with burglary, criminal mischief, assault on a peace officer and preventing arrest.
