A custodian for Centennial Elementary School in Bismarck is no longer employed by the school district after he was accused of having sexual contact with a young boy.
Blake Graff, 63, is charged in Burleigh County District Court with gross sexual imposition, a Class A felony.
In a message to Centennial parents, school officials said the victim was not a student at the school.
Court records say a 5-year-old boy told a Burleigh County social worker about inappropriate touching involving Graff. The boy was known to Graff, according to the court records. The alleged contact occurred at a Bismarck residence.
Graff denied the sexual contact in an interview with Bismarck police.
Bismarck Public Schools placed Graff on leave immediately after learning of the allegation, said Stacey Geiger, human resource manager for the district. Graff, a district employee for 33 years, then retired, Geiger said.
School officials said in a message to parents they are working in cooperation with police to protect the integrity of the investigation.
Court records do not list an attorney for Graff. He was being held at the Burleigh Morton County Detention Center with bond set at $20,000 cash. If Graff posts bond, he’s ordered to have no contact with the victim or unsupervised contact with minors.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 7.
