A Bismarck man charged with raping a woman in March has been sentenced to probation.
Brandon Foren was charged with one count of sexual imposition and three counts of gross sexual imposition, all felonies.
The three counts of gross sexual imposition were dismissed due to an agreement reached between the prosecuting and defense attorneys, according to court documents.
Bismarck Police officers responded to an apartment at 100 W. Bismarck Expressway on the night of March 29 for a report of domestic violence.
A woman in the apartment told police Foren had raped her. She also said she became unconscious at one point because Foren allegedly had his hands around her neck and a pillow over her face.
South Central District Judge Cynthia Feland sentenced Foren to three years of supervised probation and gave him credit for 326 days of jail time served. During probation, Foren cannot violate any criminal laws and must register as a sex offender. He also must complete treatment and anger management.
