The Bismarck Fire Department extinguished a small fire on Tuesday afternoon in the air filter system at the Bobcat Company Manufacturing Facility.

The department was dispatched to the facility, 521 S. 22nd St., at 12:42 p.m. Tuesday. Fire crews found a small amount of smoke coming from the air filter unit.

The fire crew removed the air filters from the building and extinguished the smoldering materials. Fire investigators said the cause was accidental and was started by sparks from welding operations, according to a news release from the department.

There were no injuries and occupants were able to return after smoke was cleared from the building.
