Officials plan to test the Bismarck/Burleigh Outdoor Warning System sirens every Friday at 9:30 a.m. until they have fixed technical issues with the system.

The sirens typically are tested only once a month, at 9:30 a.m. on the last Friday of the month.

The system is used to warn residents of an emergency such as a tornado or a hazardous materials incident. The sirens are intended to be heard by people who are outdoors.
