A Bismarck man was taken to a local hospital Thursday morning for treatment of injuries he suffered when the bicycle he was riding was struck by a pickup.

The crash occurred about 6 a.m. at Seventh Street and Main Avenue, Lt. Luke Gardiner said. The bicyclist, 29, was eastbound on the south sidewalk. Witnesses told police the man entered Seventh Street without heeding the traffic signal. He was struck by a southbound pickup driven by a 73-year-old Minot man.
