Diane Zainhofsky, executive director of the Abused Adult Resource Center, explained that $42,000 was needed to replace the boiler for the heating system at the Seeds of Hope building in downtown Bismarck. The nonprofit organization runs the thrift store, which accounts for more than a quarter of the organization's annual funding.

The executive director of the Abused Adult Resource Center will retire on June 30.

Diane Zainhofsky has worked for the AARC since 1980, including as executive director since 1987, according to a news release.

The AARC Board of Directors has appointed Michelle Erickson the interim executive director and is searching for a permanent executive director.

The AARC is a non-profit that serves domestic violence and sexual assault victims and families in a seven county are in south central North Dakota.
