Born an Irish belle on July 18, 1939, Sharon Colleen (McNamara) Gjermundson was the daughter of Jerome and Pearl (Schmidtke) McNamara, Watford City. Sharon unexpectedly passed from her earthly life to eternal presence in Heaven in her home in Marshall on Nov. 17, 2019. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, also at Stevenson Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Voth officiating. Burial will follow at Kyseth Cemetery, Marshall.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Stanley; sons, Brad (Jackie) Gjermundson and Casey (Colette) Gjermundson, all of Marshall, and Lyle (Sharlene) Gjermundson, Halliday; daughters Tammy (Rusty) Gilstad, New Salem, and Connie Gjermundson, Taylor.
Her twelve grandchildren are Kane (Justene) Gjermundson, Hali (Bridger Bombach, Charleson) Kazanne, and Chesney Gjermundson, all of Marshall; Jori (Garrett) Peterson, Minot; Shaldon (Justin) Osterberg, Killdeer; Sadie (Tucker) Dale, Parshall; Marci (Rilie) Larson, Almont; Miranda (Mathew Neisness) Jansson, Menahga, Minn., Sheyenne (fiancé Jordan Risher) Hill, Savanna Hill, and Colton (Michaela) Hill, all of Fargo.
Her precious great-grandchildren are Hollynn and Jet Gjermundson, Marshall; Landon, Paetyn, Saje and Oakleigh Jansson, Menahga, Minn.; Truitt Hill, Fargo; and baby Dale and a second baby Hill arriving in 2020. Sharon is also survived by siblings Jackie Enderle, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; Gayle Elkin, Taylor; and Michael McNamara, Dickinson. She also leaves Gjermundson in-laws Clara (Ingvald) Paulson, Larry Gjermundson, Paul Gjermundson, and Bob (Eileen) Gjermundson, all of Taylor; Sylvia (Bill) Wendland and June (Marlin) Rambousek, all of Dickinson; Olga Lingle, Circle, Mont.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, loving neighbors and friends.
Sharon was preceded in passing by her parents, Jerome and Pearl, parents-in-law, Sven and Eva Gjermundson, several uncles, aunts, and cousins in the Schmidtke and McNamara families, three brothers-in-law, and infant granddaughter Jasmine Leigh Gjermundson in 2001.
May blessed memories of Sharon remain among her family and many friends, whom she dearly loved.
