Bismarck has been recognized as having the best tasting tap water in North Dakota in 2018. The city’s H2O beat samples from a pool of nine competitors on Wednesday. The competition was part of the Drinking Water Taste Test at the 90th annual North Dakota Water & Pollution Control Conference at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.
Conference attendees selected Wahpeton, Valley City and Bismarck as the top three contenders in a blind taste test. The final judging was completed by Aurel Arndt, treasurer of the American Water Works Association, Marilyn Hagerty, a columnist for the Grand Forks Herald, and Matt Henson, anchor for WDAZ.
Past winners include Lisbon in 2017, Mandan in 2016, Valley City in 2015, Fargo in 2014, Medina in 2013, Mayville in 2012, Fargo in 2011, Mayville in 2010, Valley City in 2009, Enderlin in 2008, Grand Forks in 2007 and Minot in 2006.
