NDSU'S ENTZ EARNS NATIONAL AWARD

North Dakota State’s Matt Entz has been named the AFCA FCS Coach of the Year.

In his first season as head coach, Entz led the Bison to a 16-0 record and the program’s third straight national championship. The Bison defeated James Madison 28-20 in the title game on Saturday in Frisco, Texas.

NDSU became the first team since Yale in 1894 to go undefeated in a 16-game season. The Bison currently have an FCS-record 37-game winning streak. NDSU’s 2020 season opener will be played Sept. 5 at Rose Bowl champion Oregon.

Entz is the fourth coach to earn AFCA coach of the year honors in their first season, joining Miami’s Larry Coker (FBS, 2001), Valdosta State's David Dean (Division II, 2007) and Richmond's Mike London (FCS, 2008).
