La Tejana Mexican Market and diner is moving to a new location at the beginning of August.
Owner Elma Rodriguez said she was in need of more space to sell her homemade tamales, menudo, empanadas, tacos and burritos for lunch, as well as for the aisles of packaged grocery items she carries.
Also, she said the owner of the building plans to tear it down and replace it with a new apartment building.
The market moved to 1318 E. Boulevard Ave. in 2014, taking over the 2,598-square-foot former Best Stop C-Store. On Aug. 2, Rodriguez aims to be open in her new location, sharing space with the VFW club at 1235 S. 12th St.
Rodriguez said she's hopeful the higher traffic volume at the new location will grow her business even more.
"We do have a good following," she said, adding that her authentic cuisine has been the draw. "Hopefully, we'll attract new customers there."
Rodriguez's products will stay the same, though her hours may change, closing on Sundays during the winter months.

Signs are up outside the former Golden Corral on Bismarck's State Street announcing hiring for a north Buffalo Wild Wings location.
Construction has taken place at the site for months as crews make changes to the building facade and add garage door windows.
Requests for information made by the Tribune on capacity, hours and an expected opening date went unanswered.
The Golden Corral location shuttered in 2016 and sat empty for some time before renovations started.
Denny's debuts new look
Construction is wrapping up on the exterior of Denny's in Bismarck as the restaurant chain upgraded to a modern look.
Gone are the yellow and green hues, said manager Brenda Strand. Now the building boasts a red and neutral color scheme.
The improvements come after the restaurant remodeled its interior last year. It's part of renovations being made at Denny's locations across the state.
Strand remarked that many restaurants in town have been upgrading their buildings and now Denny's fits in with the trend. In addition to its new look, the diner has been adding new menu items, with something different rolling out about every four months.
