10 YEARS AGO (2009): Century's girls outscored Minot 34-2 in the final 11 minutes of the first half on the way to a 71-27 victory in the quarterfinal round of the West Region basketball tournament. Century's Madi Buck finished the game with 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

20 YEARS AGO (1999): Jon Miller, a 14-year-old bowler from Fargo, rolled a 300 game in junior team competition at Midway Lanes. Miller, a left-hander, rolled his perfecto while competing for Red River Lanes against the Midway Lanes junior team. He logged a 716 three-game total.

50 YEARS AGO (1969): The host Hebron Brickmakers had little trouble disposing of Richardton for the District 29 basketball tournament championship. Duane Hatzenbuehler led a balanced attack with 11 points as the Brickmakers won 53-30. Richardton was hampered by an 18 percent shooting effort.

Bismarck High has appeared in 25 Class A boys basketball championship games. Minot is second with 24 title-game appearances.
