PLAYBACK

10 YEARS AGO (2008): Western Washington, down two points at halftime, held the University of Mary to 27 second-half points en route to a 71-64 men's college basketball game in Seattle. Calin Schell led a trio of Western Washington double-figure scorers with 21 points. Geoff West scored 19 points for U-Mary, now 0-3.

20 YEARS AGO (1998): Bob Feeney has decided to step out of teaching and coaching at the end of the school year. His decision marks the end of a 36-year high school football coaching career, the last 25 at Bismarck High school. All told, the Feeney years at BHS produced a 169-82 record, 19 playoff teams and two state championships.

50 YEARS AGO (1968): There's nothing wrong with being optimistic, and Turtle Lake basketball coach Ed Schnaible is feeling that way these days. Schnaible has seven lettermen around whom to build. They are Steve Olson, Mike Voth, Doug Sundby, Dave Nathan, Richard Lindteigen, Steve Schlaht, and Ronnie Nelson. Olson, a 6-foot-2 junior, is the Trojans' tallest player.

TRIVIA ANSWER

Greg Coleman leads the Minnesota Vikings in career punts. He punted 720 times in a 10-year Vikings career that began in 1978. He averaged 40.8 yards per boot and had three blocked. Chris Kluwe is second with 623 punts from 2005 through 2012.
