PLAYBACK

10 YEARS AGO (2009): Margie Jancik scored the only goal of the game as St. Cloud State defeating the visiting University of Mary Marauders 1-0 in women's college soccer. The winning Huskies built an 8-1 advantage in shots on net. The loss leaves U-Mary 6-3-1 in the Northern Sun Conference and 8-7-2 overall.

20 YEARS AGO (1999): The Dakota Wizards have signed Shannon Taylor with one thing in mind. The Bismarck-based IBA basketball team wants Taylor to light it up from 3-point land like he did at Eastern Washington University. Long distance shooting has been an ongoing problem for the Wizards.

50 YEARS AGO (1969): The WDA title hopes of the Mandan Braves all but washed away in a 12-0 football loss in the snow and rain at Minot. The two teams entered the game tied for the conference lead at 4-1. Minot scored on  Glen Boyeff's touchdown passes to Bud Snodgrass and Duane DeLorme.
