10 YEARS AGO (2009): Second-period goals by Kurt Bry and Zach Holman put Century ahead to stay in a 4-2 hockey victory over visiting Mandan. Garrett Mindt and Matt Andre also scored for the Patriots. Brandon Austad and Geoff Hellman garnered Mandan's goals.

20 YEARS AGO (1999): Dakota Wizards coach Duane Ticknor was able to celebrate his birthday on the basketball floor in a 105-91 victory over visiting Winnipeg. Wizards guard Malik Dixon presented Ticknor with a 30-point gift to lead all scorers.

50 YEARS AGO (1969): Tuttle jumped off to 10-point first-quarter lead on the way to a 79-55 basketball victory at Pettibone. Kenny Fredrickson had the hot shooting hand for Tuttle with 38 counters. Teammate Tracy Magstadt added 18 points. Craig Thompson paced Pettibone with 16 points.
