A prime spot in Mandan’s Independence Day Parade will be up for auction at the Mandan Progress Organization’s 25th anniversary dinner on Jan. 18. It will be the 10th position, with spots prior reserved for parade grand marshal Miss America Cara Mund as well as police, fire and Mandan Rodeo Days representatives.
Other auction items are “A Day in Mandan” basket with $100 in Mandan Bucks, a $100 Dan’s Supermarket gift certificate, a steak dinner for two from Powerhouse Bar and Grill and a night’s stay at the Comfort Inn and Suites. There also will be a dozen roses per month offered by Hirsch Florist.
The public is invited to attend. The anniversary event begins with a social and games at 5 p.m., followed by 6:30 p.m. dinner and 7 p.m. program with awards for a volunteer and business of the year. Festivities will be held at the Harvest Brazilian Grill, 308 W. Main Str.
