Knights to serve breakfast Sunday

The Knights of Columbus will host a breakfast from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Christ the King Parish Life Center.

The breakfast will include sausage, scrambled eggs, hashbrown wedges, pancakes, ice cream, fruit, juice, milk and coffee for a freewill offering.

Christ the King is at 505 10th Ave. N.W. in Mandan.

Churches to collaborate on Christmas cantata

Faith Lutheran and Heart River Lutheran churches are hosting their second annual Christmas cantata "Upon a Midnight Clear" at 2 p.m. Dec. 20.

A freewill offering will be taken at the event, and proceeds will go to Bridges of hope and the music ministry at Faith Lutheran. Coffee and cookies will be offered after the performance.

The cantata will be held at Faith Lutheran, 1402 E. Ave. C in Bismarck.

Charity Lutheran hosts grief service

Charity Lutheran Church will host a Community Grief Service at 3 p.m. Dec. 20.

The event is for people grieving the death of a loved one. It will include singing traditional Christmas carols, lighting a candle and placing a handwritten note to the loved one on a Christmas tree.

The church also is launching a group called GriefShare for people in the grieving process. It is a 13-week program held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays from Jan. 12 to April 12.

Selfridge family organizes Christmas program

A family that lives near Selfridge is organizing a Christmas program to be held at the Selfridge school at 6 p.m. Dec. 20.

Organizer John Franklin said the event aims to reignite the Christmas story on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. It will feature a program about the life of Jesus.

The event will include a meal with donated food and other items.

Organizers seek donations and volunteers who want to help put on the program. For more information, call 701-422-3468.
