Cowboys worship at Kist Livestock

The Dakota Cowboys for Christ Fellowship will hold its monthly meeting at Kist Livestock at 7 p.m. Sunday. 

The program will be a hymn sing-a-long featuring the musical group, Gospel Sound. 

Service offers reflections, insight

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and Church, 818 E. Divide Ave., in Bismarck is offering a presentation on "Native Nation Building: Water Protector Defense and Indigenous Movement" at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Speaker Terry Janis, executive director of the Water Protector Legal Collective, and facilitator The Rev. Karen Van Fossan will offer reflections and insights about lessons leaned about cultures of North Dakota.

Janis will discuss the mass defense of indigenous water protectors and allies, and the role of the state in shaping concepts of justice and truth. Originally from Pine Ridge, Janis has extensive experience in the fields of indigenous education, governance and human rights.
