Margery Kathryn Krueger was born on May 1, 1917, the daughter of Karl and Mary (Tollefson) Krueger in rural Stark County. She grew up and attended country school in Stark County and graduated from the Hebron High School in 1936. Following graduation, Margery attended the Bismarck Evangelical Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1941. She worked for a short time at the Bismarck Hospital. Margery was married to Alfred Underdahl on Nov. 20, 1941, in Hebron. To this union two sons were born, Aaron and Lynn. Together they raised their two sons along with operating the Brick City Dairy and farming. They milked 45 cows twice a day for many years, selling the milk to the Hebron Creamery where it was bottled. Margery and Alfred actively farmed up until 2010 when they retired and moved to the Marion Manor in Glen Ullin. Margery was an active member of the St. John Church of Hebron as well as the Womens Guild for over 50 years. She also served on the Church Council. Margery was a 50 year member of the Homemakers Club and the Eastern Star. She held numerous offices in the Eastern Star and traveled to many conventions. Some of her enjoyments were playing cards, especially bridge, refinishing old furniture, doing needlework, rosemaling, quilting, cross stitching and gardening. She was a gracious host, setting a beautiful table and cooking fabulous meals. While on the farm, Margery could be seen traveling around on her red 4-wheeler well into her 90’s or mowing grass with the tractor.
