Minutes before the rain of a thunderstorm began on June 26, this lightning bolt lit up the sky west of New Salem while horses grazed beneath it.
The trees that shelter this old house north of Almont make a quaint setting on the prairie. Taken on June 2.
This was the old train depot out of Almont that sits on display in that town's Main Street (taken on April 29). There are other old buildings on the site also, including an old jailhouse.
This antelope ran beside our pickup on May 23 along a country road north of Interstate 94.
These two horses were very affectionate towards each other on June 1 as a summer storm approached New Salem.
Amid the flower garden, I discovered a blooming pink lily on Sunday, July 8, 2018. the pink lillies were planted as a remembrance of family and friends who have survived and died from cancer.
