Bismarck bicyclists now have a designated parking spot on Fifth Street just outside of Peacock Alley, courtesy of the restaurant’s owner, Dale Zimmerman. The bicycle parking area will hold at least 14 bikes, said Kate Herzog of the Downtown Business Association. “He paid for it but it’s for the public and anyone can use it,” Herzog said of the growing number of bicyclists who bike to work or shop downtown. The metal structure was donated to the city by Zimmerman. It is portable and designed to be removed in the winter months.
