The Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra will present one of the cornerstones of the piano concerto repertoire, Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto in “Count on Beethoven,” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Belle Mehus Auditorium in Bismarck.
Featured artists will include pianist Roger McVey and Tonya Mertz performing the English horn.
"Beethoven's Emperor Concerto is an audience favorite and a favorite of mine, as well. It is always a treat to work with the dynamic pianist Roger McVey,” said Beverly Everett, director. “I also look forward to performing Romeo Cascarino's 'Blades of Grass' with Tonya Mertz. It is an honor to work with her and to perform this beautiful piece commemorating lives lost in World War I."
Concert attendees interested in learning more about the pieces performed are invited to attend the pre-concert chat presented by Everett and McVey at 7 p.m. in the conductor's lounge.
Tickets range from $20 to $40.
