A Bismarck video production company and the theater program chair at the University of Mary are collaborating on a movie that will be filmed in the North Dakota Badlands.
"Sanctified" is a project of Executive Producer Daniel Bielinski and D&N Cinematics, who say it will be the first major film to be produced in the Medora area in more than 16 years. Crew and cast will total about 40 people.
The movie will be a classic Western with a North Dakota twist, according to Director Nick Swedlund. It will tell the story of an outlaw who is rescued from death by a nun traveling through the Badlands.
Principal photography is to begin in May. The movie is to be in North Dakota theaters in spring 2021.
