Bismarck native Tiffany Peterson will solo with the Minot Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at Ann Nicole Nelson Hall at Minot State University.
“Tiffany Peterson, the winner of our annual high school soloist competition, will perform with the symphony, and the evening will close with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, ‘Pastoral,’” said Efraín Amaya, music director.
Peterson, a junior at Century High School, will perform Dmitri Kabalevsky’s Cello Concerto No. 1. She is a member of the CHS Chamber Orchestra. She has served as principal cellist in the North Dakota Middle Honors Orchestra for two years and performed in the 2015 Middle School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall.
“Tiffany is a very bright and serious music student, and she already plays the cello with a great deal of polish and maturity. It was a very strong group of musicians that competed for the chance to play with the MSO this season, and Tiffany is a deserving winner,” said Erik Anderson, a professor of cello and bass at MSU.
Tickets start at $25 for adults with senior and student discounts and can be purchased online at www.minotsymphony.com or call 701-858-4228.
