Removal of wreaths at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery has been rescheduled due to a frigid forecast.

The Bismarck Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol coordinates the laying of wreaths at every headstone in December as part of Wreaths Across America, an event of a Maine-based national organization that honors fallen military veterans with wreaths on their graves during the holiday season.

Volunteers laid wreaths Dec. 14 at the cemetery's 6,900 headstones, covering every grave at the cemetery south of Mandan.

Removing the wreaths was set for Saturday. Due to an extremely cold weather forecast, the squadron will delay the effort until 10 a.m. on Jan. 25, Lt. Col. Kevin Iverson said. Volunteers are invited to help.
