Travelers who are enrolled in the PreCheck program or another federal "trusted traveler" program are permitted to keep their shoes, belts and light outerwear jackets on, and they can leave their laptops and liquid bags inside their carry-on luggage when processing through an airport security checkpoint.
People who are interested should first go to tsa.gov/precheck to start the signup process online, then schedule an appointment to complete the process at the airport. Walk-ins will be accepted on a space-available basis.
