Rep. Karen Rohr, R-Mandan, has received the North Dakota State Award for Nurse Practitioner Advocate Excellence from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
The annual award recognizes contributions toward increasing awareness and recognition of the nurse practitioner role.
Rohr is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, and director of the bioethics program and chair of the Institutional Review Board at the University of Mary. She holds master’s degrees with specialties in nursing administration and family nurse practitioner from U-Mary and a doctor of philosophy degree in nursing research and education from the University of North Dakota. She has worked in clinics and education and has 20 years’ experience in nursing administration, management and project development.
