Trinadee White, 16, from Hebron, has won a mural art contest at Columbia Mall in Grand Forks.
White recently completed her angel wings painting in an approximately 12-foot-square section inside the mall.
The Global Angel Wings Project started in 2012 by Colette Miller, an artist living in Los Angeles, also known as the City of Angels, inspired the Grand Forks contest. Miller’s wings were painted as a reminder that everyone is an angel of Earth.
White is an honor student at Hebron High School, where her activities include choir, drama and being an FFA officer.
“My parents taught me that we each have light and darkness in us,” said White. “My art was in a grey area for a while until I figured out I could express the light inside me by injecting it with vibrant colors.”
The angel wings mural is designed so people may take photos “wearing” the wings.
