Good Neighbor Project aided
The Mandan Good Neighbor Project has received $1,000 from Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. The grant will be used to purchase supplies for the project carried out by Custer Health to combat addiction.
The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is a federally recognized, sovereign Indian tribe located southwest of Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Herberg reigns at homecoming
Mikaela Herberg is among members of the 2018 homecoming court at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., and was elected to reign at homecoming
She is the daughter of Lee Herberg, Mandan.
Schmidt competes for rodeo title
Callee Jo Schmidt, of Flasher, will be competing for the 2019 Miss Rodeo North Dakota title Oct. 4-7 during the Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo in Minot.
The other contestant is Kara Berntson, of Kulm.
Schmidt, 25, is the daughter of Dar and Dawn Schmidt, who operate a small grains and Angus cattle ranch near Flasher. Growing up, she was involved in youth rodeos, 4-H and ranch activities. She holds an agricultural business degree and is pursuing a career in the ag industry.
She will represent the Minot Y's Men's Rodeo at the Miss Rodeo North Dakota pageant.
Mandan agents achieve in July
Mandan agents recognized by North Dakota Farmers Union Insurance for achievements in July are Phil Halvorson, top-5 producer of health insurance premiums; Courtney Schauer, top-5 producer of annuities and life insurance, supplemental insurance and health insurance premiums; John Sackman, top-5 producer of supplemental insurance premiums; Dave Berger, top producer of auto insurance premiums; and Ryan Ressler, top producer of annuities.
