Brown

The Mandan Braves have hired Greg Brown as head coach for girls track and field team.

Brown has been head coach for the Watford City girls track and field program since 2000. He also served as cross country coach in Watford City since the restart of the program in 2006. Under Coach Brown’s helm, the girls track team won 18 regional championships in 20 years, and he has coached his cross country team to a state championship.

Brown is currently serving as chairman for the National High School Athletic Coaches Association in girls track and field. He is also on the North Dakota High School Cross Country Advisory Board.

Brown, a native of Selby, S.D., graduated from the University of Mary with a bachelor of science degree. He will be teaching STEM and Tech Ed at Horizon Middle School this fall. He and his wife, Kelly, have two adult sons.
