Free family entertainment, children’s games, refreshments and tours of the Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site at 320 East Ave. B in Bismarck are featured of the annual Ice Cream Social Aug. 12. Free hot dogs and ice cream will be available.

Fiddlin' Johnny and John Lardinois will perform at 12:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. At 1 p.m., representatives of the State Historical Society and the Society for the Preservation of the Former Governors’ Mansion will present an overview of the past, present, and future of the site. A tribute to former first lady Grace Link at 2:15 p.m. will include emcee Ryan Taylor, state Sen. Erin Oban and the Link family. Gateway to Science will provide activities for children and families on the east lawn.

People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 N. Fourth St. Additional parking will be available at Trinity Lutheran Church and St. George’s Episcopal Church, 601 N. Fourth St.
