A special enforcement effort in Morton County on Friday to crack down on impaired driving resulted in three arrests, the Highway Patrol said.
A sobriety checkpoint was conducted on state Highway 25 about 2 miles north of Interstate 94; 156 vehicles were screened, two drivers were tested and neither was arrested.

Following the checkpoint, troopers conducted a roving saturation patrol and arrested three people for DUI.
There have been 78 fatal crashes on North Dakota roads through Oct. 15, resulting in 87 fatalities, according to the patrol. Of the 78 fatal crashes, 32 involved a driver whose blood alcohol content was over the legal limit of 0.08%.
