Public Works crews began working to clear major arterial roads at 11 p.m. Thursday evening. All major arterial roads have been plowed and crews will continue to maintain them throughout today.

The snow is expected to taper off this morning, but winds may cause blowing and drifting issues with additional snowfall tonight.

Public Works Director Mitch Bitz expects city crews to plow residential areas starting Saturday morning.

Please park off-street if possible to allow for more efficient snow removal operations. 

Landfill, Recycling & Garbage Collection Information:

  • The Mandan landfill will be closed today and likely tomorrow.
  • Waste Management will not collect recycling today. Stay tuned to www.cityofmandan.com and City of Mandan social media for notice of when pickup will occur.
  • Armstrong Sanitation is collecting garbage where possible. 

The Public Works Department will maintain a skeleton crew 24/7 throughout the snow event to keep main arterial routes passable and respond as necessary to emergencies.

All Mandan Public Schools, city hall, and the Morton County courthouse are closed today due to the inclement weather.

Staff will issue an agenda Monday for the city commission meeting to be held Tuesday. The Law Enforcement Center also closed as only essential personnel will report to work today.
