New hires 

Amy Washkovick, Bismarck, has been hired by Alliance Real Estate as a Realtor. Washkovick was raised in Green Lake, Wis., and moved to the Bismarck area seven years ago. She was a Realtor in Wisconsin for seven years. She deals in new construction mainly in the Lincoln area.

Terri Kaseman has been hired by Touchmark Health & Fitness Club as director. Kaseman, raised in Jamestown, has worked as a health and wellness coach for 20 years, serving people with chronic conditions to help improve their overall quality of life. She also has worked as a personal trainer developing programs for individual wellness and as a group fitness instructor for people of all ages.

Penny Kaldor has been hired by Primrose Retirement Community of Bismarck as executive director. In 2005, Kaldor was the community manager until taking time off to be a stay-at-home mom for 13 years. She returned to Primrose in August. 

Brady Inches has been hired by Moore Engineering, Inc. as a survey technician. Inches earned a degree in engineering technology at Bismarck State College and was previously employed by RFE Engineering in Roseville, Calif.

Jessica Thomasson has been hired as director of North Dakota Human Services community inclusion programs by the North Dakota Department of Human Services. She is the president and chief executive officer of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota. Thomasson will join the DHS leadership team Feb. 1.

National meeting attended

Beth Demke, Gateway to Science executive director, attended a national meeting of the STEM Learning Ecosystems Community of Practice in Cleveland, Ohio.

Demke serves as the president of the North Dakota STEM Ecosystem, a resource hub for quality STEM Education Resources available in the state of North Dakota. She also serves on an advisory council for the STEM Learning Ecosystems, a group that began meeting in April 2019 to develop a plan for the sustainability and future direction for STEM Ecosystems in the U.S. and around the world. Demke was part of a five-person team that presented this plan to the assembly.

One reelected

Karl Lembke was reelected as vice president of the North Dakota School Board Association at the NDSBA's Annual Convention. 

Lembke was first elected to the Bismarck School Board in 2014. He is a Century High School graduate, attended Bismarck State College, and graduated from the University of Mary.

Financial adviser accredited  

Tyler Richter, a financial adviser with Ameriprise Financial in Bismarck, received the Accredited Portfolio Management Adviser designation from the college of financial planning. Richter is part of Legacy Financial Partners, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. 

Richter graduated from University of Saint Thomas with a degree in finance. He has three years of experience in the financial services industry.

Attorney recognized 

Theodore T. Sandberg has been recognized as a two years 10 best criminal law attorneys for client satisfaction by the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys.

Monthly awards

Dustin Anderson, Mandan, of Farmers Union Insurance of ND, was a top five producer of health insurance premiums and life insurance premiums for the month of August.

Dave Berger, Mandan, of Farmers Union Insurance of ND, has been named the top producer of auto insurance premiums for August.

Phil Halvorson, Mandan, of Farmers Union Insurance of ND, was a top five producer of health insurance premiums for August.

Dave Kary, Ryan Ressler and Chuck Wolfgram, both of Mandan and Farmers Union Insurance of ND, were a top five producer for FUMI Commercial Lines for August.

Lewis Schock, Mandan, of Farmers Union Insurance of ND, was a top five producer of health insurance premiums and supplemental insurance premiums for August.
