Rants gets award

Kristie Rants, business and outsourcing strategy manager at Eide Bailly LLP, recently received the firm’s Rising Star Award, which recognizes top performers who demonstrate behaviors beyond those expected of them in their position and uphold the firm’s culture.

Hansen earns CPA

Megan Hansen, a senior audit associate at Eide Bailly LLP, has earned a certified public accountant designation. She has been with the firm nearly two years.

Larson on board

Michelle Larson, Bismarck, has been elected to the Starion Bank board of directors.

Larson has served on the board for Starion’s parent company, Starion Bancorporation, since 2012. She studied at Moorhead State University and North Dakota State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in communications.

Heuer promoted

Jessica Heuer has been promoted to financial services representative at Capital Credit Union’s north branch in Bismarck.

Heuer is a graduate of North Dakota State University with bachelor’s degrees in English and zoology. She has been with Capital Credit Union since 2017, most recently as a teller at the south branch.

Hired, promoted

One person has been hired and several promoted at EMC Insurance Cos. in Bismarck.

Amy Isas has been hired as a commercial lines rating associate VI. She has administrative and personal lines experience.

Tenley Kim has been promoted to commercial lines underwriting supervisor. With EMC since 2018, she has more than 18 years of insurance experience and bachelor's degrees in international business and accounting from Boise State University.

Megan Zander, Bailey Thomas and Sara Pic are now commercial lines underwriters II, promoted from commercial lines underwriter I.

Zander joined EMC in 2015 and holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental policy and law from the University of Minnesota.

Thomas joined the firm in 2017. He received a bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation management from Utah State University.

Pic has been with EMC since 2016. She received bachelor’s degrees in business management and economics from North Dakota State University.

Jones selected

Dr. Marshall Jones has been named vice president of clinics for the Bismarck region of Sanford Health.

Jones has been at Sanford for eight years and is serving his second term as the chief of staff for medical staff, is the medical director for the operating room and leads the surgical operations council.

He holds a medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City and completed a medical internship at Presbyterian St. Luke’s/Health One Alliance in Denver. He also completed an anesthesiology residency at Stanford (Calif.) University Hospital and Clinics and a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Lucille Packard’s Children’s Hospital at Stanford Medical Center. He is board certified through the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Berentson joins

Lea Berentson has joined the Sanford Seventh & Rosser Clinic in Bismarck as a psychologist.

Berentson graduated from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and received a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Minnesota School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University/Twin Cities in Eagan. She is certified in perinatal mental health by Postpartum Support International.

Agents qualify

Beck Hruby and Ryan Schnell, both of Bismarck, have qualified for the 2018/2019 Farmers Union Agents Summit, which is North Dakota Farmers Union Insurance’s top sales honor.

The summit recognizes the top performing agents from nine states.

Two with Sanford

Dr. Carmen Ilie and Ilene Brackin have joined Sanford Health in Bismarck.

Ilie, in interventional cardiology, is board-certified and has worked in Bismarck-Mandan for six years.

She graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacology in Timisoara, Romania, and did her residency at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago.

Brackin is certified in family practice and surgery through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Brackin received a master's degree in business from the University of Mary and a bachelor of science from Rocky Mountain College, Billings, Mont.

Strong an intern

Greg Strong has been hired as an intern at Dakota Carrier Network.

Strong is a University of Mary senior studying computer information systems and information technology management.

He will assist DCN’s operations and marketing departments.
