Area applicants are among those receiving Midco Foundation grants this spring: Beulah Public Library, $1,000; Mercer County Women’s Action and Resource Center, Beulah, $1,000; Dakota Zoo, Bismarck, $1,000; Dakota Children’s Advocacy Center, Bismarck, $2,750; The Innovation School, Bismarck, $2,000; Guardian and Protective Services, Bismarck, $1,000; Dakota Leathernecks Detachment No. 1419, Mandan, $1,500; YWCA, Minot $1,000; Rehab Services Inc., Minot, $1,000; The Salvation Army of Minot, $1,000; Pick City Park Project, $1,000; and Riverdale Ambulance Service, $2,500.
Nursing school 'Infant Friendly'
NDSU Nursing at Sanford Health in Bismarck was recognized as meeting workplace breastfeeding support criteria by providing a lactation room, which has resulted in a designation of an Infant Friendly location by the North Dakota Department of Health.
Nursing students Avery Lillemoe, Shelby McCarty, Yasmin Mohamed, Lindsey Storms and Alexis Thompson developed and coordinated the room updates.
