Bismarck Tribune to recognize outstanding teens, country women

The Bismarck Tribune is again teaming up with MDU Resources Group Inc. to recognize outstanding high school seniors.

The Teen of the Week series kicks off this week, featuring stories about students from the region who excel in academics, extracurricular activities and within their communities.

Tribune reporter Cheryl McCormack will feature a different teen each Wednesday on Page A1 of the Tribune. The series will conclude in the spring with one teen awarded a $5,000 scholarship, sponsored by MDU Resources.

Also this week, the Tribune will publish a special section devoted to the 26th annual Country Woman of the Year contest. The Tribune is partnering with Farm & Ranch Guide and North Dakotans for Comprehensive Energy Solutions to recognize women in agriculture who balance family and careers along with giving back to their communities.

Look for stories on the Top 12 candidates for Country Woman of the Year in Friday’s Tribune. The winner will be announced at an event Sept. 26.
