Bismarck’s oldest

Bismarck’s oldest

  • Updated

Few companies in Bismarck have made it to the century mark.

Knowles Jewelry has been in business at 119 N. Fourth St. since 1907. It changed owners over the years, and Brian Peterson purchased it in 1984.

H.A. Thompson & Sons, established in 1908, is close behind and is still in the Thompson family. President Mark Thompson, grandson of founder Harry, has worked at the business since 1975, according to the company’s website.

Corwin Churchill Motors, now Ryan Chrysler Dodge Jeep, is nearing 100 years. It dates back to 1914.

The oldest business in town is the Bismarck Tribune, established in 1873.
