Russell Eugene Braddock, 64, West Fargo, passed away suddenly Sept. 10, 2019, at a Fargo hospital.
He was born Aug. 18, 1955, to Dale and Ruby Ann (Oase) Braddock in Williston. He grew up in Reeder, graduating from Reeder High School in 1973. He attended the University of North Dakota and Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology. He spent the majority of his career working in the aviation industry. His career took him from the Dakotas to California, Arizona and Texas.
He married Nola Schick on Dec. 23, 1977, and they had two children together. They later divorced and supported their children together, eventually welcoming five grandchildren.
In his spare time, Russell enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, shooting and most of all, riding his Harley. Russell loved to travel and experience new places and foods. During his time living in the southwest, he developed a keen ability to sniff out a good Mexican restaurant. At home in North Dakota he enjoyed all manner of sausages and jerky.
In December 2009 Russell moved to Fargo and began a career at Fargo Jet Center. Shortly after relocating to Fargo he met Kim Grindberg and a romance was born. Russell and Kim became engaged and bought a house together where they lived happily until his passing.
He and Kim would often spend weekends riding throughout the local countryside, sharing time with friends and family, puttering around the yard and cheering the Bison and Vikings.
Russ was known by his family and friends to be a generous and kind man. Quick to laugh and share a joke, Russ enjoyed the company of others and often called far away relatives and acquaintances to stay in touch.
Russell is survived by his sister, Norma Braddock of Bismarck; daughter, Shonda of Fargo; son, Christopher (Amy) of Fargo; two granddaughters, Courtney and Taylor Schiwal of Brentwood, N.H.; three grandsons, Connor, Owen, and Finnegan of Fargo; fiancé, Kim Grindberg of West Fargo; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Ruby Ann; brother, Keith Braddock; and several aunts and uncles.
